The tram driver saw a tallish man on the edge of the kerb. The man failed the routine taught to every small child: he looked right, then left, but his undoing was not to look right again. The tram was almost upon him when he stepped into the road. The driver sounded the horn automatically, his brain registering immediately that it was too late. The last thing the driver saw as the tram struck the man was the horrified look in his ice-cold Nordic-blue eyes.

A Sunny Morning in the Algarve

Arrived from a cold and snowy UK a few days ago. So glad to be back, in Luz, Western Algarve Portugal. It’s 8 January 2019, having breakfast on the terrace, sat in warm sunshine, under a cloudless sky. Checking out the horizon was that a Dolphin? Not sure.  Back to the main job then, was it five or six small fishing boats just off the coast………………
